PageWhisper does not collect any personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any identifying information
• Browsing history or visited URLs
• Your Claude API key (it is stored locally in your browser only)
• Any usage analytics or telemetry data

2. How the Extension Works

When you click the "Summarize", "Key Points", or "Translate" button, PageWhisper:

• Reads the visible text content of the current webpage
• Sends that content directly to the Anthropic Claude API using your own API key
• Displays the response in the extension popup

No data passes through our servers. The communication is exclusively between your browser and the Anthropic API.

3. Your API Key

Your Claude API key is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). It is never transmitted to us or any third party other than the Anthropic API to process your requests.

4. Third-Party Services

PageWhisper uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate summaries. When you use the extension, the content of the webpage you are viewing is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for more information on how they handle data.

5. Data Retention

PageWhisper does not store any data on external servers. Your API key and any preferences are stored locally in your browser and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser storage.

6. Children's Privacy

PageWhisper is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
